Rhys Veen (Physiotherapist & Owner)

Rhys has a world of experience and has worked in a variety of roles. His knowledge and drive is what separates him from the others, with a keen interest in treating lower back injuries, knee and shoulder pain.

Rhys completed Exercise Sports and Rehabilitation Science (ESRS) in 2016, followed by a Masters of Physiotherapy at Curtin University in 2019. He topped his year group with the highest clinical accolades and ventured to Victoria to start his Physiotherapy career.

Rhys worked with two prestigious Private Practices in Melbourne. This created an opportunity to work for the AFL. Rhys was the Physiotherapist for the AFL Indigenous Program in 2019.

He now currently works with the Fremantle Football Club (FFC) men's AFL side on game day. His role allows him to work locally at Optus Stadium and interstate, such as NSW, TAS, SA & VIC. He initially started with the Fremantle Football Club in 2017 when he was a Sports Trainer for the Inaugural AFWL side. He is the Head Physiotherapist for the Southwest Slammers Basketball Team.

Rhys is also a big advocate for helping out in the community and chairs the Young People in Business (YPIB) portfolio for the Bunbury Geographe Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI). He is a proud executive board member of BGCCI.

Rhys has completed further study to help build his wealth of knowledge. This includes:
1. Good Life with OA in Denmark (GLA:D Program). Rhys is qualified to provide the nationwide evidence-based initiative to treat clients with hip and knee osteoarthritis. It has the potential to improve the quality of life and may delay or prevent the need for surgery for hip or knee osteoarthritis.

2. Sports Level 1 & Level 2 Course by Australian Physiotherapy Association. This course is designed to give Physiotherapists sound knowledge of the anatomy, biomechanics and pathology of injuries to common body areas and across different sports. Topics covered include hip and groin, elbow, wrist, hand injuries, foot pain and tendon pain.

3. Dry Needling Level 1 by Australian Physiotherapy Association. This structured course meets the national APA and AHPRA recommendations for physiotherapists to practice dry needling safely for musculoskeletal conditions and sport injuries. Rhys has sound knowledge of indications and contraindications for dry needling, and possesses appropriate assessment and treatment skills.

4. Spinal Physiotherapy course by Australian Physiotherapy Association. Rhys completed this course to improve assessment and management of neural, myofascial, articular and motor control systems within a clinical reasoning framework. This covers the whole spinal system from the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.

5. Shoulder Course Level 1 by Lyn Watson. Rhys has gained extensive clinical research insights into the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of the shoulder and shoulder girdle.

6. Clinical Reformer Pilates course by 'Universal Practice'. The Universal Practice Clinical Mat & Reformer Pilates Course is the only Pilates Course accredited by the Australian Physiotherapy Council in Australia, designed specifically for Physiotherapists and the Physiotherapy profession.
